Begin with meaning

Decide what the audience needs to understand and how the piece should feel. Write the idea in Arabic first, then test its clarity. Avoid forcing a sentence into space originally designed for a different language.

Give letterforms room

Respect connected forms, punctuation and reading direction. Test headlines on a phone and balance the visual mass with space. A digitally typeset font is not hand-drawn calligraphy; commission an artist when the brief calls for original lettering.

Design for voice and motion

Choose a voice and register appropriate to the audience, including whether formal Arabic or a dialect fits the context. Keep animated text readable and give each phrase time. Motion should support the idea.

Review the complete version

Review copy, diacritics where needed, imagery, voice and translation together. Use specialist language review where the context requires it, especially for professional or sensitive subjects.
